FAQs

Will the ashes I receive back, be my pet?

TPC is solely an individual cremation service. We can 100% guarantee the ashes you will receive back will be your pet and your pet only.

My vets are also local to you. Will they use TPC for their cremations?

Unfortunately, a lot of pet owners presume that when their pet is sadly laid to rest at their local vets, that they use our private and respectful service. Sadly, this isn’t the case. With the veterinary world becoming very corporate, most vets will be contracted to a large chain of corporate crematoriums. This usually means a weekly collection, leaving pet owners a 2/3 week wait of the return of their beloved pet’s ashes. It has never been more important to ask your veterinary practice about the crematoria they use to make sure you really are doing the very best for your much-loved beloved companion. Remember, we are just a phone call away. We can make all arrangements for you to come direct to the crematorium or make the arrangements to collect your pet on the same day, taking away all unnecessary added worry.

Am I able to spend some time alone with my pet at the crematorium?

Here at the crematorium, we have our private and dedicated farewell room. Please see the step-by-step guide once you arrive with us:

  • You will be greeted by your dedicated professional.
  • We can assist with either helping or respectfully taking your sadly passed pet into our private and dedicated farewell room.
  • There is just a small detail form to complete.
  • We will guide you through the next steps and answer any questions or requirements.
  • You will then have your own important personal time to spend with your pet in our farewell room, alone or with friends and family.

How do we go about making an appointment?

TPC does operate by appointment only. We always recommend that if sadly you do have to make a veterinary appointment for your pet to be P.T.S to contact us as soon as possible via phone or email. We can then make all arrangements for you.

Can TPC collect our sadly passed pet from our home or veterinary practice?

We do have a home or veterinary collection and return service available. For home collection, all we require is an address and we can arrange a time suitable for yourselves. For a veterinary collection, all we require is the name and address of the veterinary practice your pet is resting at. We can then make all arrangements on your behalf, taking away all the added stress and a difficult time.

How long do I have to wait to collect the ashes of my pet?

For appointments here at TPC before 1:00pm, we can offer a later same day return of your pet’s ashes. For appointments after 1:00pm, we can offer a following morning/day return of your pet’s ashes.

What to do if my pet passes at home during the day or night?

Please feel free to contact us at any time, we are always here to help. If your pet passes during the day, we can make all arrangements for our collection service to be with you the same morning or afternoon. If your pet passes during the night, we can make all arrangements to be with you first thing the following morning or at a time that is suitable for yourselves.

How can I choose an urn or casket or tribute for my pets resting place?

We do have a display of urns and caskets in our private and dedicated farewell room. When sadly visiting the crematorium, you will be able to see these. However, for home collections, we recommend visiting our website to view the Urns and Caskets page. Your dedicated professional will be able to help and advise through this process.

Can I book an appointment with you the day my pet will be laid to rest?

Of course. We are always available at short notice and will do our very best to help at a time that is convenient to our pet owners. Call us on 01206 807223 or email us at Mark@tendringpetcremation.co.uk

Can I have a paw print, fur clipping for a keepsake?

We do offer a clay based paw print which is placed into a photo case, enabling you to have a beautiful keepsake of your much-loved pet. We can also provide you with a fur clipping upon request.

Do you offer ashes into pendants and jewellery?

We do have a wide range of pendants, bracelets, rings, cufflinks, and earrings available. We feel this is a lovely way to always keep your pet ashes close to you. Our jewellery is created using a natural setting resin instead of a UV set resin, as the quality and finish are incomparable. Our display cabinet is also in our private farewell room, and you can view these products on our Pet Memorial Products page on our website.

Can we contact TPC to make advanced arrangements?

Absolutely. We understand that sadly losing a much-loved pet can be unexpected. However, contacting us in advance can help to take away some of the stress at such a difficult time. You will also have peace of mind that your pet will be treated with the dignity and respect they deserve.  Knowing that sadly the time is not too distant, we can take all the details we need and guide you through the process.
